KNIFTY KNITTER KNEWS:
The Knifty Knitter’s fingers have not been idle!
Twenty five (25) more Shawls have been delivered to the Passavant Hospital Chemo/Dialysis Center. Three (3) tall kitchen bags of hats were given to Caps for Kids and we’ve recently sent hat/scarf sets to Light of Light Mission. Over the winter, Feed My Sheep received over 175 hat/scarf sets that weregiven to the Pittsburgh area homeless.
Also, Deb has been alerted to a need in the Appalachia Region of Kentucky–Warm Up America has teamed-up with Build-a-Bed to provide underprivileged children with a comfy bed.
They have put out a call for twin sized knit/crocheted blankets. We will answer their call :Are you looking for ways to help?
* Check your closets for yarn…bring it in for us to make a ‘warm fuzzy’ for someone who needs it. *You don’t intend to use your JoAnn Fabric’s/Michael’s coupons?…bring them in for us to use.
*Did your neighbor mention that they have yarn and aren’t using it?…ask them if we can have it.
(If you all remember, about a year ago we received a windfall of yarn from the Beaver/Butler Presbytery…it filled the bed of my truck {I couldn’t close the tailgate!} plus the back seat. We used it all up in less than 5 months!!!
We use a LOT of yarn folks ANY yarny assistance will be greatly appreciated!) *Monetary donations are always welcome!! p.s.–It’s a proven fact that learning new things keeps your brain humming —so stop in and learn a new skill and have fun chatting with some great folks!
WARMLY,
Deb Reeb
Plug In, Charge Up, Reach Out, and Pass On!
When we join a church, when we confess Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives, we often find our-selves seeking what that means. Sunday morning worship is a great time to profess our praise of Him, but often leaves us wanting more. Church statistics show that if new mem-bers do not find a way to be connected in the church besides Sunday morning…they will eventually leave. So this is our starting point: Plug In! If you have joined our church in the last several years and find you have not participated in any other gathering outside of Sunday worship…I encourage you to Plug in! Or if it has been awhile since you were plugged in to your church family, we have a great many opportu-nities starting this fall. Four separate bible studies of varying lengths, Choir, Bells, Chimes, Praise Band are all getting back to new rehearsals, and other mission and fellowship oppor-tunities are being created for the sole purpose…to allow ample opportunities for members and visitors alike to become Plugged In! Let me encourage you to take a few minutes and look at our calendar and find a time for you to be plugged in. If you see nothing there that interests you, call me, (because if one of you feels that way there is a good chance others do as well) and let’s see what other opportunities God may want us to offer.
